Republican strategist Chris Mottola, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, handled TV spots for George W. Bush and Arlen Specter, as well as out of state campaigns.
In 1996, Mottola worked on commercials for the presidential run of Bob Dole (who lost to William Jefferson Clinton who was seeking a second term). Mottola has also worked for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
In 2002, he worked on television ads for George Pataki's run for governor.
In 2005, Mottola signed on to join Republican Senator Lincoln Chafee's campaign as his media consultant. Chafee is running for re-election and as of August 9th, 2005, has two Democrats who are eager to take his seat, Secretary of State Matt Brown and former Attorney General Sheldon Whitehouse . Mottola's job will be to help create television advertising to praise Chafee and smear the opponent.
In 2005, Mottola will also be working on Illinois Republican gubertonial candidate Ron Gidwitz. A commercial, launched July 20, 2005, called "Change", attacks Democrat Rod Blagojevich for "broken promises".
He has also previously worked on ads for Senator Conrad Burns, Senator Gordon Smith, and Senator Connie Mack.
