Cherry Tree, Pennsylvania is a town of 443 located in a valley along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River where Indiana, Cambria and Clearfield counties meet.
On December 7, 2006, common sense prevailed on the Cherry Tree city council of when it voted down a similar ordinance by a vote of 6 to 1. Councilman Henry Statkowski wanted to the city council to adopt an ordinance that urged residents to get a gun and learn how to shoot it to keep down on the crime. This is the same nonsense actually adopted by the city council of Greenleaf, Idaho, which was itself modeled after a 1982 Kennesaw, Georgia city ordinance.
