Talk:Candidates for rapid deletion
From dKosopedia
Question of how far to go ... Venus certainly seems useful in Democratic rhetoric...
- Venus -- off topic to dKosopedia. This should be an immediate deletion, but I'm putting it here as example of what is off topic. We are about Democrats, electing democrats, and Democratic policy. --Allamakee Democrat 09:45, 17 June 2006 (PDT)
- It isn't really off topic - it's the best example of what greenhouse gas buildup does. Considering this is the single biggest issue on *THIS* planet, comparing to another planet is worth doing.
- That's a good point, but the article really needs to make that connection more clearly than it does. In general, I think it is fairly uncontroversial to say that the further a given entry strays from politics and policies, the more explicit the effort to link it back to those should be. In other words, it's probably fair to have an article on "Wisconsin" that looks more or less just like a Wikipedia article on Wisconsin would; as a state, it's pretty closely connected to all kinds of politics and policies. On the other hand, if you're going to have an article on "Mars," you'd better make fairly clear within the text of the article just exactly how it connects to politics. --Ray Radlein 11:26, 17 June 2006 (PDT)
This is where we do the question. --Allamakee Democrat 16:01, 17 June 2006 (PDT)
