Brian Bosma

From dKosopedia

Brian Bosma is a Republican lawyer from Indiana, who was first elected to the General Assembly in 1986, where he represents District 88. As of 2005, he became the Speaker of that body.

In November of 2005, U.S. District Judge David F. Hamilton ruled that daily prayers at the General Assembly were too heavily biased in favor of Christianity, and ruled that they must be non-sectarian. This ruling has caused widespread, bi-partisan controversy in Indiana.

Mr. Bosma became personally embroiled in this dispute on February 14, 2006, when he told a delegation of Jewish rabbis: "How many Jews are there in Indiana? About 2%? There are at least 80% Christians in Indiana." He later apologized for his comments.
