There seems to be a widespread misconception here that adding a word with a colon creates a new namespace. It does not; all such articles are still in the Main: namespace. Custom namespaces can only be created by editing MediaWiki's LocalSettings file on the server. The only "real" namespaces are the ones that appear in the search forms. So this article (and practically all the other namespace-related info on dKosopedia) is based on a false assumption; editors cannot add new namespaces.
