Talk:Antagonistic Atheism

From dKosopedia

Allison @ 144:

They are both fundamentalists–Hitchens is an atheo-fundamentalist, Donahue an a religious fundamentalist. When either side says, “My ‘ism’ [be it atheism or Catholicism] is the one right way and your ‘ism’ is wrong,” they are both incorrect. The Left should be better than this. There are different paths to the Ultimate Truth. I am a Christian, but I can appreciate the views of people of other faith traditions as well as secular humanists. Progressives of faith and secular progressives need to set aside differences and work together toward common goals. I think all progressives care about taking care of the poor, protecting the environment, and promoting social justice. Who cares if some of us are inspired by faith and some of us are inspired by reason, as long as we want the same things for this country.
