Antonia M. Taguba

Major General Antonio M. Taguba was an Army officer, who investigated the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison. Although his report was relatively mild towards higher ranking officers and top Pentagon appointees, he was forced to leave the service and retire early. He has stated that he believes that top people knew about the abuses, but did nothing to stop them.
