1010: Ly Dynasty established in Vietnam.
1014: Irish High King Brian Boru dies.
1023: Chinese invent paper money.
1025: Byzantine Emperor Basil II dies.
1028: Future William the Conqueror, Norman bastard, is born the natural son of Robert, Duke of Normandy. His mother is a commoner, the daughter of a tanner.
1035: In 1035 Robert, Duke of Normandy, sets out on pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and dies.
1045: Bi Sheng invents movable type printing in China. Movable type is re-invented centuries later in Europe.
1050: Crossbow is re-invented by the Normans. First invented in China, the crossbow is later re-invented by the Romans, but then forgotten in the barbarian twilight.
1066: William, Duke of Normandy, later to be called William the Conqueror, invades England and defeats Ango-Saxons at the Battle of Hastings. King Harold of England is killed in battle. William then makes himself King.
1069: William the Conqueror orders that Yorkshire be de-populated through sluaghter and mass expulsion because the county continues to resist his occupation. Domesday Book shows that the Yorkshire district of Amunderness, lost 46 of its 62 villages and had only a fraction of its previous population following the Norman crimes. Suviving Anglo-Saxon peasantry flees north into Scotland.
1086: Oath of Salisbury
